Here’s the Result

December 17th, 2009

surveyI’d like to thank those of you who took the time to answer my question.

The results are in and were helpful. I think we can do a better job going forward.

Here’s a graph showing how much interest you have, collectively, in each of the categories I mentioned.

And here’s a graph showing what percentage of you were interested in each of those categories.

Reminder: Join me on Take Stock with Ellis Traub, this evening (Thursday) at 7:30PM Eastern (6:30PM Central). Call (347) 857-3608 to listen. Dial “1″ to join the conversation. This evening we’ll talk about what companies/industries in the health care sector will benefit and which will suffer if health care reform should be enacted into law.

It’s kind of interesting to note that more people are interested in basic investing, advanced investing, and discussions of specific companies than are interested in comments on current events and political issues; but the intensity of interest shows just the opposite. I’m not quite sure what the significance is.

If my goal is to please the most people by giving them what they want, then should I focus on the things that are the least interesting?

My conclusion is that you are happy when I deliver what you’re especially interested in; and happy enough to tolerate it when I occasionally talk about something you’re less interested in.

I guess the main point is, if you don’t like what I have to say most of the time, you wouldn’t still be here.  [I guess I should have been able to figure that out without any survey!]

Some of the suggestions I received were very helpful and you’ll see many of them reflected in my posts going forward. So I especially wish to thank those of you who not only answered the multiple choice questions but took the time and effort to make those constructive suggestions.
